Performance & UX

The Performance & UX tab adds two optional behaviors to your site: a page preloader and smooth scrolling. Both are off by default. The detail fields under each behavior appear only once you turn that behavior on.

You'll find the tab in the Settings panel, under Themeasy → Settings. Each behavior has its own accordion section. Click Save Changes to apply your changes; a "Settings saved." notice appears when they're saved.

Preloader

A preloader shows a loading animation while the page content is being prepared, then fades out once it's ready.

  • Enable Preloader — show a loading animation while the page content is being prepared. Off by default.

When Enable Preloader is on, three sliders appear:

Field What it does Range Default
Preloader Duration How long the preloader stays visible after the page has loaded, in seconds. 0.1 to 5 0.5
Preloader Delay The delay before the fade-out begins, in seconds. 0 to 5 1
Preloader Max Wait The longest the preloader can stay, even if the page hasn't finished loading, in milliseconds. 1000 to 10000 6000

Smooth Scroll

Smooth scrolling animates the jump to anchor links and softens mouse-wheel navigation, instead of snapping instantly.

  • Enable Smooth Scroll — apply smooth scrolling to anchor links and mouse-wheel navigation. Off by default.

When Enable Smooth Scroll is on, two sliders appear:

Field What it does Range Default
Smooth Scroll Speed Adjusts scrolling speed; higher values give slower, more pronounced scrolling. 0.1 to 5 1
Smooth Scroll Touch Speed The same, for touch devices. 0.05 to 1 0.1

Override a single page

These are site-wide settings. To switch the preloader or smooth scrolling on or off for one page only, use the Themeasy sections in Elementor's Page Settings — see Per-page settings.
