Feature requests & roadmap
The Feature requests board (at /feedback, subtitle "Vote on ideas and shape the roadmap.") is
where you suggest improvements, vote on what matters most to you, and watch ideas move across the
public roadmap. Open it from Feedback in the sidebar or the footer. Anyone can browse the board;
voting, commenting, and submitting require you to be signed in.
Submitting an idea
Once you're signed in, a Submit an idea button appears at the top of the board, next to
Roadmap. It opens the form at /feedback/submit.
- Choose a Board — the category your request belongs to. The board you pick also determines which product the idea is filed under, so you don't choose a product separately.
- Give it a clear Title (up to 160 characters) — this is what other customers see and vote on.
- Add the Details — describe the problem you're trying to solve and how you'd expect it to work. Markdown is supported, and you can include up to five links.
- Press Submit an idea.
Your new idea opens on its own detail page with the confirmation "Thanks! Your idea has been posted." You automatically cast the first vote on anything you submit.
Write for votes
A request only gets scheduled once enough people back it. Lead with the outcome you want, keep the title specific, and check the board first — if a similar idea already exists, vote on it instead of posting a duplicate.
Voting and commenting
Every idea has a vote button on its left — a small upward arrow with the current vote count.
- Vote toggles your support on and off. Press it once to back an idea (the button highlights and the count goes up); press it again to remove your vote. The button's tooltip reads Vote when you haven't voted and Voted once you have.
- For signed-out visitors the tooltip reads Sign in to vote, and clicking the button opens the sign-in screen — voting needs an account.
To discuss an idea, open it at /feedback/idea/{slug} and scroll to the Comments section. Type
your message in the box and press Add a comment. If you aren't signed in, you'll see
Sign in to join the conversation. Replies from the Themeasy team are marked with a
Staff badge so official answers are easy to spot.
Filtering and sorting the board
On /feedback a toolbar sits above the list. On its right, two dropdowns narrow what you see:
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Status | Show only ideas in a given stage — Open, Planned, In progress, Shipped, or Declined. |
| Board | Limit the list to a single board. |
Choose All to clear a filter. On the left of the same toolbar, three tabs reorder the list:
- Most voted — the default; the ideas with the most support first.
- Newest — the most recently posted ideas first.
- Trending — ideas gaining votes fastest right now.
The roadmap
The Roadmap (at /feedback/roadmap) is a three-column view of "What we are planning, building,
and have shipped." Each accepted idea sits in exactly one column:
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Planned | On the roadmap and scheduled to be built. |
| In progress | Actively being worked on right now. |
| Shipped | Released and available to everyone. |
Each column heading shows how many ideas it holds. Each card shows the idea's title and its vote count; a shipped card can also link straight to the release it landed in ("Shipped in v2.4.0"). When ideas span several products, a dropdown above the columns narrows the roadmap to one product (All products shows everything).
Ideas that are still Open (collecting votes) or Declined don't appear on the roadmap — you'll find those back on the main board using the Status filter. The Feature requests button at the top of the roadmap takes you back there.
Team responses and status
As an idea progresses, the team keeps it up to date in two ways you'll see on its detail page:
- A status badge next to the title reflects its current stage — for example a Shipped badge once it's released, or Planned once it's scheduled.
- An Official response block holds a written note from the team explaining a decision or sharing context. When an idea ships, you'll also see a Shipped in v{version} note with a View changelog link to the matching release notes.
Get notified when your idea moves
If you've voted for an idea, we email you when it changes status — for instance when it becomes Planned, In progress, Shipped, or Declined — so you don't have to keep checking back. To stop these emails, untick Feature request updates in your notification preferences.
Feature requests vs. other channels
The feedback board is public and about what to build next. For something specific to your own account — a failed download, a license that won't activate, a billing question — open a private support ticket instead. For real-time service health, check the system status page.
